The purposes of why the Greater Shepparton Citizens Action group is established ;

1. To provide a citizens forum for the discusion and where necessary,
   the development of an independent view of community needs and priorities
   accross the Greater Shepparton municipal area.
   
2. To ensure adequate and appropiate consultation/discussion is undertaken
   by the Greater Shepparton City Council in respect to the ongoing development
   and maintenance of Greater Shepparton social and physical infrastructure.
   
3. To ensure timely and appropiate levels of communication from the Greater|
   Shepparton Council in regard to council projects and developments well prior to
   contract finalisation.
   
4. As, and when necesary, provide an advocacy role on behalf of Greater Shepparton
   residents, business, clubs, organisations or similar, to Greater Shepparton City Council
   and to other levels of  government and or organisations in respect to community needs,
   service standards and community/ratepayers issues and problems.
   
5. To take appropiate and timely action in respect to any matter within the broader
   community that may require the assistance of an appropiate comunity forum.
   
6. To support any other comunty activity that will assist the economic development,
   growth and good government, and make Greater Shepparton a better place to live.
